Wow, that worked!
Here are some little tricks to fix, cure and heal what ails you.
-Hick-ups:
My brother gets the credit for this one. I have heard many ways to cure the hick-ups. This made sence and has been extensively tested with remarkable results. It is all in the technique. Basically, the hick ups are the body's way of dealing with too much oxygen. All of the techniques I have ever heard of involve some form of starving the body of air. As I tested this and reflected on all of the others, I was able to see the pattern. This one however, cuts right to the issue and addresses it directly.
If you have ever practiced meditation, you will do very well. If you are upset and impatient, you may find this to be annoying and it won't work.
It is really very simple. You must be relaxed and practice each step very slowly.
First, exhale all of the air in your lungs. Just when you think you have exhaled as far as you can, push out just a bit more.
Before you take back a whole lot of air, this is where the true technique begins.
You simply take very small amounts of air back in and exhale it back out again. Each breath you take in just a small amount more than the last breath. and slowly build back up to a full breath.
It's allot harder than you may think. As you do this, if you are not relaxed, you can easily get kind of panicked for air. All the more reason to be very relaxed. This takes your air supply down to a base line and as you build up, your body relines itself with a better sense of a proper level.
I have done this many times now and every time I execute it properly, the hick-up's go away and I exclaim, "Wow, that's cool!"
-A song stuck in your head:
Ellen DeGeneres said on one of her shows that all you have to do is say: "By Mennen!" like the Mennen commercial. The problem is that even though it will stop the song that is stuck in your head, you will now be inflicted with this one.
There is a cure though. A good friend of mine was on location of a commercial waiting around with many other actors for their turn to perform their selected part. With much time to hang about, they all began doing the "Mennen" bit to everything they said. This then brought up the question of getting this new tune that has replaced the old one from now being the predominant song or jingle from being stuck in their heads. Well, one smart fellow had the answer!
You simply sing the ABC's to the tune of the national anthem. It is a seriberal effort that is uncommon and just simply won't stay there. But it WILL un-stick any repeating song in your head.
Wow, Cool, huh!?!
-Sinus issues:
Have you ever heard of a Netti Pot?
Simple and hundreds of years old. Basically like a tea pot designed to pour water with a saline mix into one nostril and if you just relax and close your throat, it will cycle through your sinuses and spill naturally out of your other nostril. I never would have believed it if I hadn't seen it for myself. It makes perfect sense!
Then, I find a squirt type bottle designed for this application called _______ It comes with saline packets for a perfect mix. It is more powerful than a Netti Pot and will clean you out for sure.
The only problem with preforming such an efficient cleaning of your sinuses is that it leave you open for bacteria to fester.
The trick is to then follow up with a product called ______. You simple give a little spray after a Netti treatment and this creates a poor environment for bacteria to grow. An inhibitor if you will. Just make sure that you always use the saline mix or the plain water will burn your nose something fierce. With it, you won't feel a thing!
We have used this practice in our own home with excellent results!
If you have never seen someone squirt water up their nose and have it come out the other side, you will say "Wow, that's cool!"
